One early Bear Archery Kodiak Special recurve bow. Probably early in first year 1955
based on decals and I-beam. Experts please chime in.
RH, 49#, 64" less common for year one, Serial # X944. Not sure if the X means something.
Laminated maple and brown wood riser with I-beam construction. No holes.
Brown glass facing w/ stress lines. Pale olive green glass backing with stress and scratches.
Tips intact with 5 lamination overlays in black and white.
Standing bear decal good. K Special decal good. Old patent decal good. Never had a coin.
Worn rug rest. Plate. String.
The finish is still glossy and pretty good.
This is a collector's bow.
